Don Jacobs Volkwagen Sponsors Scarecrow Fest 2009

September 28, 2009 — Don Jacobs Volkswagen will be sponsoring Scarecrow Fest 2009 at the Lexington Green Mall, October 1 through October 25, 2009. Scarecrow Fest features a Scarecrow Contest with five categories open to the public, with $6,000 in prizes for the winners. Don Jacobs will be submitting a scarecrow in the contest, as well as displaying cars throughout the month of October. Here is the schedule of events:

• Wednesday, October 1 - Accepting scarecrow entries, due by October 15


• Saturday, October 3 - Scarecrow Building Workshop. To sign up, call Joseph Beth Booksellers at 271-5330. Entry forms can be picked up at Artique, or downloaded from the Lexington Green Mall website. 2pm to 5pm


• Saturday, October 10 - Caramel Apple Day - Come get a free caramel apple from Don Jacobs Volkswagen and register to win! 10am to 4pm


• Saturday, October 17 - Volkswagen Model Challenge - Test your knowledge of VW models over the years for your chance to win! 10am to 4pm


• Saturday, October 24 - Test Drive a VW and Win! Test drive a new VW and you are entered to win prizes! 10am to 4pm


• Sunday October 25 - Scarecrow Day! Don Jacobs employees will be handing out candy for the kids on Scarecrow Day. Sign up to win great prizes! 1pm to 4pm
  
  Judging starts 2pm, winners announced 4pm

The public is encouraged to vote for their favorite scarecrow, which will be on display October 16 – October 25, by picking up a Scarecrow Fest ballot at any of the shops and restaurants at the Lexington Green Mall. Winners will be announced at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25 at Lexington Green Mall, where over $6,000 in prizes will be awarded. Winners will be on display October 25 through November 2 at the Lexington Green Mall.
